Marinara sauce is
used on many Italian dishes. A good marinara sauce is great over
pasta and is also a good starting point for many other Italian recipes.
INGREDIENTS:
Ingredients:
1 C chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
2 T olive oil
1/4 t dried basil, crushed
1/4 t dried oregano, crushed
3 (14oz) cans whole tomatoes,
drained and crushed
Salt, pepper
DIRECTIONS:
To make sauce, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until tender. Stir in
basil and oregano. Add tomatoes and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring
occasionally. Puree sauce in blender or food processor.
