I grew up in the part of the country
where Friday Night Fish Fry was a standard fare. This beer
battered fish filet recipe is fantastic. It goes great with a
cold beer or two too.
Ingredients:
1 can Bud
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 large egg (lightly beaten)
1 pound fish fillets (cod, halibut, haddock, etc., cut into serving
sized pieces)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup flour
Oil for frying
Directions:
Mix the beer, flour, baking powder, salt and egg into a batter in
a bowl. Season the fish with salt and pepper. Dredge the fish in the
flour and shake off any excess. Dip the fish into the batter. Fry the
fish in preheated 375F oil until cooked, about 4-5 minutes.
Goes great with:
Cajun Roasted Potatoes
Onion Rings
