The stir fried seasoned beef,
green pepper and onions make this a favorite served over steamed rice.
It is quick and easy to make plus it is good food too.
Serving Size : 6
Ingredients:
2 pounds Round steak
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup Beef bouillon
1/4 teaspoon Ginger
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 Clove mashed garlic
1/4 cup Cooking sherry
4 tablespoons Peanut oil
1 large Green peppers cut into 1/2 -- inch strips
1 large Onion cut into 1 inch pieces
1 cup Sliced water chestnuts (optional)
3 tablespoons Cornstarch
Sesame oil
Hot steamed rice
Directions:
Cut meat against the grain into thin strips (this is easier to do if
meat is partially frozen). Make a marinade for the meat by combining
soy sauce, beef bouillon, ginger, mashed garlic, sugar and sherry.
Marinate steak for 2-12 hours in the refrigerator.
Remove meat from marinade. In a wok, heat peanut oil and sauté meat
until brown, add just a dash of sesame oil to meat while it's
browning.
Add cornstarch to reserved marinade, add additional water if
necessary. Add marinade mixture to meat, stir until marinade thickens
to gravy. Remove meat and gravy mixture from wok.
Add peanut oil to wok, stir-fry green pepper, onion and water
chestnuts until lightly done. Add meat and marinade gravy. Add dash
sesame oil to taste.
