The battery on the old pickup went out in downtown Atlanta. We
needed to have a jump. Since I am a paying member of AAA we
placed the call and a service truck showed up and we got the
jump start.
The
next stop was Pep-Boys for a new battery. After selecting a
heavy duty replacement we went to pay for the purchase. We were
axed for personal information by the cashier. “What is your
telephone number?” I hate the thought that I will get a call by
some telephone solicitor while eating dinner so I gave her my
old standard line. “It is 404-555-1212.” She typed it into the
computer and was shocked to see all of the references to my
telephone number come up. She exclaimed “WOW you shop here a
lot!”
